Union Pacific #4014, "Big Boy," the largest steam locomotive in the Americas, built in Schenectady, New York, in 1941, traveled from Wyoming to Philadelphia, arriving there in time for July 4th semi-quincentennial events. Crazy heat prevented me from getting to see it until July 7, Tuesday, as the engine began its return journey westward. It left King of Prussia around 9:00 and showed up at Valley Forge Station, in Valley Forge Park, around 9:15 am. First shot shows the early crowd, around 7:30 am. Numbers swelled to three or four thousand by 9 am.
